I've been running a 2-7 Leupold.
The rifle is a 376 with 20" and irons so I see the sights below 3X.
Recoil with the 270 is about 40 #. She's a thumper so I want sufficient eye relief and a bold reticle.
And the "problem" is that the rifle is crazy accurate.
With a low power scope I feel like I'm limiting it's utilities.
I mainly use it as an afternoon deer rifle because I know it's going to either put them down or leave a short, heavy blood trail.
I wouldn't hesitate to shoot past 300 with the rifle. I have engaged steel at 325.
Bolt lift is 90° so in medium rings I can go up to 50mm ( not that I will but, I'd like more than 33mm).
