Emperor Haile Selassie was of royal lineage by birth. Although he was of the Ethiopian Orthodox Christian faith, reportedly his royal roots went back to the descendant of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, thus the Solomonic Dynasty. One of his titles was Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
