I have had an online subscription to Rifle, Handloader and Succesful Hunter magazines for at least 8 or 9 years, and have been scanning through them, trying to find load data, but to no avail. Would anyone know which issue of which magazine might have this information, or point me to another source? I do have Ken Waters "Pet Loads" with .405 data but it is a bit dated. Thanks for any help that anyone could provide.

Wolfe Pub. had a special issue of Rifle called 'The Legacy of Lever Guns" published inWinter of 2000.

Dave Scovil wrote an article on the Win Model 1895. There are some loads given for the .405 with the Hawk 300 gr RN. Here are the loads tested (no mention if these are max., just that they duped factory loads at around 2,200 fps)

56.5 gr IMR-3031 2,162
58.2 gr IMR-4064 2,105

52.0 gr RL-7 2,231
