You never know what you are going to run into or need, but I end up with two options for different needs, One I carry is a leatherman. I don't especially need the one with the most tools, but I carry the Wingman. But you never know when you will need something bigger and I see where Buck has come up with their Ka-bar version.

With this one they use a variation of the Buck 119, which is a great blade, but the black phenolic handle gets slick when it's bloody. Buck handles that with this version.
No point in dramatizing this I guess. Just want to point out Buck has brought out a nice version of a Ka-bar knife, which I think is pretty nice, for many uses.
