Droptine made a Sharpfinger clone from a buggy seat spring which I bought recently.

He said, "I bought that old spring in an antique shop in New Hope Arkansas. The woman that I bought it from said it came off the seat of an old horse drawn buggy that had rotted away on her Great Grandfather's farm. I'm sure that steel is well over 100 years old but it sure heat treated and tempered nicely."
