Funny how a catchy marketing phrase from 100+ years ago can still get you excited.
I now have on hand a Boddington #1 in .450 Nitro Express. Weighs 7 lbs, 11 oz, less scope & rings. Arguably, this is the most powerful factory #1 made, as I'm assuming you can load it it up a bit over factory in the #1.
The wood is plain, but nicely checkered. I've seen very few Boddingtons with fancy wood, so I'm guessing the stocks were chosen more for strength. It will be interesting getting it running; I hope it's as accurate as my .475 Turnbull.
