The first rifle I purchased was a Marlin .35 Remington 336 carbine. This was about June of 1952. I mail ordered it from Montgomery Ward. I was all of 16 years old. I still have it. I shot my first deer with it and managed to harvest an elk with it. I still have reloading components. I had to replace a broken stock some years back. It's been loaned out a few times and had been used on deer and elk. At one time it was considered a good elk rifle. It has been retired for some years.
