All:

Was hoping that some of the Marlin experts here would know the answer to this.

I have a straight gripped 336 that I want to put a shorter LOP stock on for my son. Don;t want to cut the original stock as it is in excellent shape and want to keep it to put back on.

So, I have been looking for a straight grip stock that I can cut and likely refinish so he can use it. As you guys know, the straight grip stocks are hard to come by.

It looks like a pistol grip could probably be modified to fit but taking off the grip but not sure if it would be possible and look reasonably good.

Does any one know for sure, can I modify a pistol grip stock to work on a straight grip gun?

Thanks!
