Hi Blackbart, I know I'm a little late to this conversation but yes, it's very easy to convert a pistol grip stock to fit on a straight grip receiver. If you've been over to Marlin Owners you've probably already seen how to do it. I actually converted my 336 to straight grip by altering the bottom tang and reshaping the lever as well as the stock. Here's a few pics of my stock in the process of re shaping. It was eventually finished in Tru-oil.
