I thought so too, but just yesterday I bought two new 18v Ridgid batteries... and registered them for the Lifetime replacement... NOPE... they changed that to 3 years.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.
