Lots of good info, Mainer.
I have also messed around with the barrel channel to barrel fit, I replaced the factory blob of epoxy pressure point with a more exacting one and sealed the remainder of the channel with a thin coat of epoxy to waterproof it.
This is on the takedown model.Because or has a 2 piece stock I found a scout scope holds poi better with added advantage of that it can be bore sighted.
I use scout scopes on the other takedown BLR also and I am completely familiar with them now.
I am a big guy with long arms but the scout scope allowed me to shorten the length of pull about 3/4". I shortened the barrel to 19" and the rifle is no longer than my m94. It is very handy and my principle sheep rifle. I am very happy with it
