Yes, the MR is lighter and the stock is different. Its loosely based on the CVA Apex but the receiver is alloy instead of steel. ML only too. The only negative is i don't think it is offered with open sights and the buttstock comb is probably a little bit high for open sight use anyway. Most of the people i know with interest in the new CVA 45s all say the same thing.......Bring it in the MR!!! It obvious why, its the CVA flagship break action and not everyone is looking for a 30" barrel long range rig. In reality you would be lucky to gain 100fps in the 30" barrel vs the MR's 25" barrel.

Is the additional weight and length worth it for most ML hunters?....IMO no its not. I would rather have a 7lb or less rifle that still has plenty of oomph at 200 yards. That is easily doable with a 25" 45cal fast twist.
