I always liked Timothy Dalton, "License to kill" and "The Living Daylights". The stories were a little weak, but I thought he was a pretty good Bond. For me he's just below Connery and above Bronsnon and Moore. I don't care for Craig for some reason. Too dark and brooding, I guess.
But let's get down to brass tacks here. There are three things involved in every James Bond movie that draw men in, and one thing for women.
Men like the action, the gadgets and the Bond Girls. Ladies like the handsome, sexy James Bond.
A female Bond writes off two of the four without a second glance. Pretty damn stupid to mess with a winning formula on account of PC or anything else. But then lately, Hollywood hasn't exactly been considered a cerebral capital!
