I had one of the Marlin 1894P's (Blue, 16.x inch barrel, straight grip), I scoped it and tried 3 or 4 loads for it and I could outshoot it with my (unscoped) RugerRedhawk, so I sent it down the road.

Wish I had not, as now I have the time to tinker with it and it was the handiest little rifle I have ever handled.
