Thanks pard. What brand of anti-seize did you use? I may or may not ever use the brake, but my grandson might, some day. I too want to take it off by hand and watch for rust, crud, etc. The barrel is stainless, this cap looks like chrome moly, ha. I am so thrilled with this rifle....snow? rain? sleet? No big deal! Up close, in timber? Handy dandy and powerful. Across the canyon to the next ridge? Its 'shame on him" time! ha. I could have done all that with every rifle I ever had, lol, but they were far too pretty for me to enjoy treating that way. Heck, I even treated my M16 with loving tenderness, and I knew it was a piece of crap!
I wonder if the shooters choice All Weather grease I have ( thick grease) would keep it from vibrating off, or come off when I put in and out of a gun scabbard?
