The organized scheme and push for such diversity got up some steam in the 80s and was fostered in colleges and universities starting about then - with some serious grants from the USDE, The push in government became more serious soon thereafter, although colleges were dealing with US government requirements for "affirmative action' in the early 70s, As a result, the race war for some has been on for quite some time - but a social war to date. Frustration and upset will continue to grow until the sensible freedom lovers fix it. There will be incidents here and there, but I do not think it will lead to general pitched physical battles with injuries and deaths.
