This matches my experience with my G20 and G29. Also with the smaller CCW 9mm's, like the Kahr CM9 and the G26. They just don't seem to recoil like everyone claims they do. Maybe it's a function of being semi auto and spreading out the recoil impulse or something. Or maybe it's all the years of shooting 44 mags and 45 Colts loaded to the hilt, has just numbed my hands.....
I've been going about it from the other direction. My first (doubt it's the last) 10mm is the Ruger GP100. I don;t doubt that the recoil from some 10mm autos may be softer, but I have found the 220gr Underwood load (which is essentially the same as the BB 220gr) to be almost pleasant even in the revolver. Currently working up a load with the 200gr Montana Bullets LBT. Some auto users have reported cycling problems with that slug, but I don't anticipate any.
