Early 90s I was the patrol sergeant/firearms instructor for a 50-man Sheriff's Dept. I carried an accurized 1945 Ithaca 1911A1 45 and one of my top shooters had a Colt Delta 10mm. We shot some IPSC and run and gun matches at the local club, which also hosted our qualifications.

Anyhow we switched guns back and forth occasionally and I couldn't tell enough difference in recoil to matter. And we were both running loads toward top end of reloading data available at the time.
