I have a CZ-527 American in 6.5 Grendel. I like it and think it would be great in a Contender. It worked well on the only deer I shot with it last year. I did not get opportunity to use it on any others but did not feel under gunned though where I hunt ranges are relatively close. Most of my shots are 40-60 yards so loss of velocity really isn’t an issue.
I’ve found it a fun little cartridge to play with and would do it again FWIW to you.
