I was one year old . my x fil was in mayport at the time . he told me that the navy sent every ship to the south as soon as they had enuff guys to move the ship then sent the rest of the crew how ever it took to get them on their ship just to be the first target to keep the nukes off of the USA said they sent most of east coast navy south .
