Older Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt with a 45 ACP Cylinder and a two digit prefix SN. My barrel preference would be 4 5/8". 45 ACP is excellent plinking stuff and can be had for a decent price. 45 Colt ammo can be had a version intended for shooting in Colts or real stout loads put together for shooting in Rugers

A Redhawk in 45 Colt would be a second choice. Use half moon clips to run 45 ACP ammo.

45 ACP ammo out of a wheel gun is a very very mild recoiling round. Note, I used very twice to emphasize that fact.
