Hate to hear that, I bought some in hopes of using them on game. I'll try them in my rifles but likely will use them in the same way you have.
Won't hurt to try...some have had some success with them...
Another to try if you feel the need for a relatively heavy bullet is the Speer Gold Dot in a 62 Gr. I havent used any but have had very good luck with 55 gr. Gold Dots, both in accuracy and performance on game.
