Have a 35 Whelen and 338-06 in pre-64 M-70s. Original bbl re-bores & re-chamber. The Mauser and pre-64 M 70
are best for these calibers as the actions are controlled round claw extractors.
The 338-06 IMP or 35 Imp are very impressive, and nothing short of
a really mad brown bear needs more. One of the Nosler reps killed a grizzly with the 338-06
using a 210 Partition bullet at less than 20 feet. I kept my FWT M 70 original because of its weight-and I have only
two M 70s in o6. But its your rfle-choose wisely.
