Middle Tennessee is one of the fastest growing areas of the country. The numbers and sizes of the subdivisions are mind boggling if you’ve grown up here, and remember when it was fairly rural. The open farmland that used to be, there wasn’t as much for a bad tornado to hit.

I don’t keep up with storm stats much, but with all the growth that has taken place in the last 20 years it makes for more targets for these storms. When a big, long track tornado sits down in one of those mega subdivisions, the results are disastrous.

I live about 20 miles south of the one of the hardest hit areas. It looked ominous watching it from a distance. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost.
