I’m a Leupold guy, but it amazes me how many think “set and forget” is a strong selling point. Especially when there are elevation and horizontal turrets on every scope they sell.
There main selling points for me is size, weight, appearance, and buying American.
But most of the "bad press" comes from those who do not use them as a set it and forget it scope. So I'm surprised by your view. Although I'd guess that some of their super high end target scopes are better in this regard.
