I am able to add boats to my homeowners policy for liability coverage. In turn they are covered under my umbrella policy. The cost is minimal, either free or maybe $25 for the rider.
The only boat I have full coverage on is my houseboat, under $700 per year for up to $100,000 in damages.
In my opinion liability insurance is an absolute must. Too many things can go wrong on the water.
