Don't leave home without it! If you have an accident while trailering your boat and have a gas spill you better have good insurance. Once while heading north on I-95 from North Carolina I came upon a 25' boat laying across 3 lanes of road, I can't imagine how they got that boat out of there. One good thing, I didn't see any gas leaking out. Last time I bought boat insurance it was under $250. Make sure you buy the insurance for the whole year and just not the on water boating season.
