I liked 4007, worked well for me. After the bulletin, I poured it out in my yard, didn't fill the can with water like they directed. It must have been pretty bad for Hodgdon to take that step. First it was a few lot numbers and I was OK. Then it was the whole batch.
Close burn rate powders are Pw Pro 2000, which has worked very well in the .223 with 62 gr. bullets. Some say it's the same or very similar to CFE-223. Leverevolution burn rate is close and I've seen it used in other than the 30-30's, etc. H-380- is an old one, great in the 338-06 with 180's to 225's. I don't use 250's in that one. Seafire and gunner500 both like it in the 338-06. Big Game isn't that far off, so I think we can find some good substitutes.
