I own a 1916 made Colt 1911, a SIG 250, a Kahr PM, a S&W Mountain Revolver and a Springfield XD all in 45 ACP.
Which is best all around?

Which ever one I have when I want to shoot something. All work well.

The most versatile however is the revolver because I can use 260 grain LBT bullets in it in 45 Auto-Rim brass and with my load I shoot them at over 1000 fps. (Yeah I know................it's way over the published accepted pressure for a 45 AR ) In addition to those loads I can also shoot any 45 ACP load on the market.
