Yes, the leftover Chicopee Falls premil receivers were turned into early 99E's. But postmil 99E's were made for 25 years (1960 to 1984), so the vast majority will be receivers and parts made in Westfield. I thought some of the internal parts changed from Chicopee Falls, but I've only had one postmil 99E and I didn't do more than remove the stock.
That would be an interesting study, to look at the later 99E against the early ones. I always assumed the lever safety 99E rifles were built as the early ones (and late premil) rifles were.
