With a smaller displacement engine, fairly tall gearing, and keeping you speeds under 65 mph. If you compare said class7/8 with a typical pickup truck towing a heavy (17K pound + RV), the difference in fuel mileage is very small....while the comfort and safety increases exponentially with the class 7/8!
