Access to beaches is not the same thing as "public coast". Not relevant to this discussion, anyway. Lots of houses and hotels (privately owned) are built right up to the high tide line on deeded land. All over the Oregon coast. Like I said.....nice place to visit. And I've done so many times.


I've stayed at rentals and camped there on the coast. It is beautiful.

The public beaches there are WAY different than the situation here in WA.
I live on an island and public beaches/access is about as rare as a Trump flag in King county. Lol. Nearly everything to at least low tide is private.

Anyway, good luck to the OP's buddy. Sounds like he's gonna need it.
