The TV show Revolution was about a world where electricity just stopped working one day. It was okay if you got into the story and characters but wouldn't call it great; too much implausibility you had to overlook. I know you have to start with a bit of suspension of belief for the main premise, but they just ignore time and distance and other practicalities. People have no problem walking from the East Coast to some Western state, probably 1500-200 miles and back again in a few weeks and apparently have no need to acquire food on their journey. Stuff like that seems like sloppy writing to me.
