I spent the afternoon at the rifle range today. I shot 5-shot and 3-shot groups at 100 yards. I loaded 50 rounds yesterday and tried them in the two rifles that are candidates for taking hunting in November. When I returned home Gun Gack III was waiting for me. I found myself nodding along with the chapter on rifle accuracy and the one on shooting at 100 yards. I was disappointed with one rifle but after reading GGIII, I realized that 5 shots into 1.1" was probably pretty good. I also was reminded that the other rifle probably would not shoot 5 shots into 0.32 inches as it did three shots. I don't know if it or I consistently shoot that well because I stopped after the first group-three shots touching one inch high at 100 yards-and declared victory. Now all I have to do is not mess with it for 6 weeks. What I need is an article on how not to mess with things that are where I want them.
