Art from what I heard the reporter didn't know Berkowitz was messing around with the kid. When the girl's mother showed her the pictures of the man who was having a relationship with her daugther, the reporter knew exactly who it was and went BatS8it crazy. She figured out the girl was 16 or younger when the relationship started.
