Ratsmacker: I agree with your advice - and want to add this - don't forget the wonderful Smith & Wesson Model 647 revolver in 17 HMR.
I bought mine when they first came out and have been happily and successfully shooting it ever since.
This stainless 6 shot revolver with 8 3/8" barrel is accurate to the point of shocking.
If the OP can find one on the open/used market i highly recommend it.
