In the past, I've had excellent results with H4350. It was always my go to powder in the WSM. I do not see H4350 listed in the manual, but IMR4350 is listed. Maybe Barnes saw the same mundane velocity results I saw, so they used IMR4350 instead with better results. That will be the next powder I try, since I have a lot on hand. The Barnes manual lists a max of 65.5 grains of IMR4350 at a velocity of 3,003 with the 180gr TSX and MRX. I could live with that kind of velocity in a 300 magnum. My 300WBY avg's 3,130 fps with the 175 LRX and shoots quite accurately:

Better than the Tikka 300WSM/175 LRX. Hopefully by switching powder, we can remedy that while also bumping up the velocity on the shorty.... Nows the time of the year to start in with load development...

I was using 69.0gr RL19 with my 300 wsm load work for awhile with the 180 federal I was getting 2962, 180 ttsx I was getting 2855, 180 hornady I was getting 2922. The accuracy wasn’t there with RL19, so tried Barnes data for Imr 4350 with 180 ttsx I was getting 3081 but accuracy want their. But I suspected my mag box was binding up the action so took it to a belt sander and the whacky groups disappeared. . But the groups were not what I wanted. Anyhow I ended up using H4831 with a 178gr Eld-X, I’m getting 2905 f.p.s with that load and it shoots pretty good. Only done 3 shot group even summers get warm up here so I don’t mess with 5 shot groups in the summer. I do need to take it out this winter shoot a 5 shot group.

Good info buddy. You should try some 175 LRX and let us know how she does. There's a big difference between the Hornady 175 ELDx and the 175 LRX. I'd be curious to see if you can get the LRX bullet shooting good in your rifle. I'm getting 3/4 moa with mine, but velocity was not what I wanted. I Might as well be using that bullet in a 30-06 with the speeds I was getting. The pre 64 300wby is a different story all together.
