I remember putting one on a 24 way back in the early 80's. Back then I got a little riser from Numrich and a longer scew. I don't remember it being that high, seems like it was about an eighth of an inch, but it was a long time ago.
I would find a longer screw and cut some shims to get my height, then file out and drill a little spacer, if I were doing it today.
