That stock is off a standard rifle with the barrel boss... Look close, you will see where it was inletted for the rear sight boss.. You are one of the ones that is never skeptical about these pre 64's, but I look at 100's of them over the course of a year. Things like that scream to me unoriginal and maybe even pieced together. That was common for supergrades, since they bring more money. This one may just have a different stock/unoriginal stock (very obvious) and a checkered bolt handle knob, or it may be totally pieced together. Guys like you always assume something is all original and then get bit in the big ol arse when you get it, then possible try to pass it off to someone else.. Its a nice rifle for sure, but how original is it?
