Ive got another one in the works. Waiting on a 9 twist barrel to arrive, and planning on wrapping it around 55 grainers for a variety of game.

Stock, barrel length and contour?

I can't decide between trying to build a 700 with a 24" varmint contour barrel on an old BDL VS stock with scrolling or something like a 21" barreled synthetic Mountain Rifle.


The stock is a B&C Mountain Rifle stock, I may have to open the barrel channel a tad. Action is 700, barrel is Rem Sporter Contour, 22 inches. 9 twist

Pretty plain vanilla stuff, but my current .222 is almost exactly the same configuration. I absolutely love it but it is a 14 twist which is limiting it somewhat.

It has a mag contour fluted barrel...same Mtn. rifle stock
