So I just picked up a NIB Savage Model 14/.250 for $750us. I also have an option on these three, which is the better one for collectibility value?
1) 1928 K .303 Lyman tang 3055xx= $4875us
2) 99H TD 22hp engraved to be a ‘Baby K ‘ to match above,done by a FEGA engraver 2302xx=1875us
3) a 23B in 25/20 with Lyman peep and a Wollensak 4x scope 2040xx =$770us.
All in well above average conditions.
You’re going to love that M14 in 250 Savage . I bought one new in 2009 when the factory fired up the line to make the American Classics . I had them install the varmint AccuTrigger in mine .
Remember , as with anything , you can only spend “ too much “ for a finite amount of time before the market catches up with what it costs you . I haven't seen prices like this since before the 2008 market crash . Today the pre-mills are commanding top $$ like never before . I still say the tang safeties will come crashing down .
I'd go with the K , but I would personally prefer an example in 250 or 300 .
