Seriously, once you’re at the 30-06 level, nothing is doing much more. It’s just about being different. A 338-06 won’t be doing less! 338 bullets don’t make smaller holes in critters. More importantly, a 338-06 round is the best looking. Something about the proportions is just right.
I’ve never had one but I’ve got an old 7600 in 270 Win that’d make a great place to monkey with one.
