I hear good things about the place and had many a friend stationed at Hunter. My unit was there circa '80 . I do not remember what time frame but is was a bit warm! We spent two weeks in a remab site, fenced in, while elements of our sister unit were OCONUS. We never left the site except to do some squad training close by. CSM knew we were bored so he set up a boxing ring one day and we took turns pounding the crap out of each other! One of the last days there they brought in a [bleep] of kegs and we had a big drunken mud fight, I still have pics somewhere, though cameras were verboten.
