ShootingTimes had a very good article on the 6.8 Western a month or so ago. JVB did a very good job explaining the rationale behind it.
It is supposed to be a better 6.5 PRC with less recoil than a 7mmRM or a 300WM. Not really needed, but OK in it's own right. If I was starting over, I'd strongly consider it.
