I've got one .270 and it's the old standby Winchester. I'm a hunter but being an old curmudgeon I'm not into super long range shots at game. I'm thinkin' there's too much to go wrong. So I limit my shots to 400-500 yards, if that. But I would like to shoot heavy for caliber bullets at game, maybe 160-175 grains. Also, though I don't shoot at game at long distance I would like a rifle capable of punching paper at 1000 yards.

So why a .270? Because on that other forum I belong to there's a lot of .270 haters and I just want to prove to them that the .277 diameter is capable, (Yeah I'm an agitator like that, LOL!.) This cartridge is perfect for that purpose. I like it.
