The 3 point on an 8N is only rated for 800 pounds. But you can hook it up to enough to lift the front wheels off the ground. The way I see it, if the hitch will lift enough to stand the tractor up, that's all you can use, anyway. I see some modern compact tractors with a hitch rated to lift 1600 pounds,...or even more. But I don't know how they can do it unless you chain the front end onto a big tree.
