IIRC Mountbatten was related to both Elizabeth and Phillip, so I guess they were related to each other as well, which is probably why Charles' eyes are so close together. The Battenbergs changed their name to Mountbatten and then (at least Phillip) again to Windsor to clean the kraut off of themselves for their subjects. Phillip was from some branch that had wandered off and intermarried with Greece at some point.
Just looked it up, Mounbatten's sister married into the Greek royal family. Between Queen Victoria and there it was pretty much Deutschland Uber Alles.
