Ruger rifles have been a hit and miss as far as accuracy for me. Some are fairly accurate and some not so much. One of the most accurate was a 280 I bought in '76 or '77. The last Hawkeye has been so-so - I'm still working on it. But there's been quite a bit of effort so far with mediocre results - I may re-barrel it. Until Ruger began hammer forging their own barrels you never knew how accurate they would be. But today's Ruger's , including all the 375 and 416 Ruger's, don't have that problem.
The Kimbers however also suffer from quality control/accuracy issues and are not known for their ruggedness. Ruger's are.
