Logical fallacy of the false dichotomy. There could be other scenarios. Say 10% bad long term reactions/inflammation.
Right. The most likely scenario is lots of long term sick and chronic problems which might be worse than a die off. At least with dead people you could dispose of them and the world would adjust.
