Don’t be scared of the Selway/Bitterroot region. It’s torturous as many can attest but we seem to find great animals regularly without the crowds. You’ll need a frame pack & some moxy but the rewards are still there. If whitetail are your thing - do some research around main drainages in lower country - you might be surprised. My .02
